AFC Bournemouth starlet Nnamdi Ofoborh scored a goal and provided an assist for the Flying Eagles against VFR Aalen U19.

The Cherries midfielder was part of a squad that took on German third division team VFR Aalen in a friendly. Ofoborh, who was listed among the substitutes for AFC Bournemouth’s Premier League game against Spurs, scored his first ever for The Flying Eagles.

First Half Parity

In the first half, Henry Offia continued his dazzling form for Nigeria. The Sweden-based midfielder opened the score after a through ball by Tom Dele-Bashiru. Young Flying Eagles star Offia managed to find the net in his third consecutive game. However, VFR Aalen managed to equalize before half time and the score remained 1-1 at the break.

Stepping It Up In The Second

Nnamdi Ofoborh made his mark on the game when he restored the lead for the Flying Eagles. A spectacular solo effort by the Bournemouth prospect put Nigeria in the lead once more. The victory was secured when a corner kick scramble allowed Rosenborg’s Igoh Ogbu to make it 3-1. Neither side managed to score more goals after that. In the end, Nigeria congratulated themselves with a well-deserved victory.

The Flying Eagles Continue Preparations

This was the fist victory for the Flying Eagles in their preparatory games. Thus far, SC Freiburg held Nigeria to a 3-3 draw in the first test. Afterwards, Saudi Arabia managed to secure a 2-1 win in the second preliminary fixture. The Under-20 World Cup kicks off on May 23 in Poland. Qatar, Ukraine and the USA await The Flying Eagles in Group D.
